Since its establishment in 2012, KAI has:
- Offered 6 Family Literacy Workshops in the 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 school years, and in the 2017-18 school year. We will have these workshops once again in the 2018-19 school year. We consider this our hallmark program.
- Purchased a Yamaha F Attachment trombone & 5 violins for the music department at Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts (KMSPA)
- Conducted a school-wide Spellathon
- Developed a new website linked to the school’s website, along with donor recognition and logos.
- Helped raise public awareness of the KMSPA, and increased exposure of the student talents at Kinsella such as the J Grooves Band.
- Secured funding for an ongoing college visitation and readiness program dedicated to preparing students for postsecondary endeavors
- Sponsored a yearly Resume Writing & Developing Interview Skills Workshop Series for high school students who need to develop resumes for both summer employment opportunities and for college applications.
- Approved funding for a summer 5-week comprehensive internship program for four high school students at TheaterWorks in Hartford
- Sponsored a Math & Movement program, a multi-sensory approach to teaching math through physical exercise, stretching, and cross-body movements
- Sponsored a 5th Grade reading unit residency titled, “Finding Courage: An Arts-Infused Literacy Residency”
- Received funding for Visiting Artists
- Hosted an annual Corporate Breakfast whereby friends, partners and sponsors of KAI are invited to the school for an opportunity for them to visit and witness first hand the power of the arts on education.
- Offered lunchtime performances by Kinsella Students in the Aetna cafeteria on a monthly basis during the entire school year, beginning in 2015. Aetna covers cost of busing and lunch for the students
- Held an annual Beer & Wine Tasting fundraiser each September since 2016. The fall, 2018 event to be held September 28th.
